My name is Elisa and I’m the founder and editor behind Tropikelle.com
I’m a Spaniard who is starting her 3rd year in Singapore, where I work full time in Marketing.
In my free time I love travelling around Asia and working on this site. Creating the content and doing all the photography and editing just makes me happy!
What’s behind Tropikelle
Although I was always aware of the environmental problems that we are facing, it wasn’t until recently that I found out in detail what the fast fashion industry is doing to our planet. Compromising the environment as much as basic human rights.
I realized that the purchases that we make say a lot about who we are and what type of life we want to live.
I am a firm believer that our purchasing choices affect the demand, and the demand affects the supply.
If you are a fashion and beauty junkie like me, I hope that this space will inspire you to move towards a more ethical way of living, taking one step at a time.
A good place to start is this post that will give you some basic tips to make better purchases for your wardrobe.
Where the name comes from
I’ve always had that wanderlust drive in me. I’ve traveled to over 30 countries in 4 continents and had wonderful experiences that have shaped the person that I am today.
Tropikelle is influenced by those adventures and by my addiction to tropical beaches and warm weather.
Places where the slow lifestyle and the love for nature and natural foods are usually the norm.
( Also, a very close friend of mine calls me “Elle”, which I thought would add a more personal touch to the site)
Thanks for stopping by!
